Ilford South ranks in the top 33 constituencies in the country for barriers to housing and services deprivation. In 2019 1 in 42 people in Redbridge where homeless.

While recent government funding is welcome, the need to address homelessness is not a temporary one. Once lockdown ends, the government must uphold its commitment to end rough sleeping across the country permanently, by addressing the stark social housing deficit and providing local councils with the necessary funding to tackle this issue.
