I attended a moving service tonight for Parliamentarians in mourning at St Margaret’s, Westminster Abbey.
When I met David at my fathers church, and in Parliament, he was always warm and thoughtful.
When I became an MP, he sent me a short handwritten note congratulating me – remembering his time as a Councillor in Ilford.
David Amess was someone who would not walk on by on the other side of the road, and as such, I’ll continue to run my regular street surgeries to listen directly to Ilford’s residents.
